Does Dog Respond To Puppy Talk?

Does Dog Respond To Puppy TalkIn fact, a very recent study done by esteemed researchers, it is realized that dogs indeed respond to puppy talk. But as per what the name suggest, puppy talk is more prevalent in puppies. This is why it is often easier to train younger dogs than older dogs. There is something in their cognitive ability to understand words when they are younger as compared when they are in their adult stages.

In that study, a controlled group was selected with 2 variables. After the mini experiment is being done, it is determined that younger dogs are able to respond to high-pitched sounds better than adult dogs in the absence of a visual cue. Scientist have determined that the younger dogs respond to the sounds because they have yet to be familiar with any sound yet. However, in the case of adult dogs, they are already very familiar with their owner’s voices, hence they will not respond to any random sound.

What Does This Mean

What this study tells us is that yes, dog does respond to puppy talk. However, it is often limited to dogs in the younger stages of their life. During the puppy days, their brains are still developing, and they have yet to grow accustomed to human’s behavior. Hence, they are very reactive when it comes to puppy talk. Try saying “Do you want to play” in a high-pitched sound to a new puppy, and you will see their tail wagging like wipers on the windscreen.

Hence, to answer the question “Does Dog Respond To Puppy Talk”, it really boils down to the age of the dog and the familiarity of the dog to the sound.
